Client Overview

Adler Aerospace develops advanced autonomous aerial systems, counter-UAS (C-UAS) capabilities, and ISR platforms for defense, security, and tactical operations. Their existing WordPress site was built on a heavy, unstructured theme that couldn't keep pace with a growing catalog of technical capability pages, gated data sheets, and a regular publishing cadence — so Digital Genei was brought in to rebuild the front end from the ground up.

The Technical Challenge

Digital Genei's development audit of the existing site surfaced five structural issues that were slowing the team down and hurting the visitor experience:

#Technical Issue FoundImpact on the Site
01Bloated theme shipping unused JS/CSS on every single page6.1s average load time, dragging down every page on the site
02No shared component system — every capability page was hand-built from scratchSlow, inconsistent updates whenever a new UAV/C-UAS/ISR page was added
03Full-resolution hero images and video assets served uncompressedHeavy bandwidth use and poor performance on mobile connections
04No form or lead-capture infrastructure built into the themeData sheet requests had no structured, trackable submission flow
05Layouts broke down below tablet width with no real responsive systemBroken or cramped experience for the growing share of mobile visitors

The Redevelopment Approach

Digital Genei rebuilt the site as a modular, performance-first system inside Elementor — replacing one-off page builds with reusable components, custom HTML/CSS/JS widgets, and a proper lead-capture layer.

TECHNICAL AUDIT
Codebase & Architecture Review
Full theme, plugin & asset audit
Mapped every template, plugin, and script the old theme was loading, and identified exactly what could be rebuilt lighter and reused across pages.
COMPONENT SYSTEM
Reusable Capability Page Template
24 reusable Elementor components built
Built one modular, custom-coded template for UAV platform, C-UAS/EW, and ISR pages — so new capability pages could be assembled instead of hand-built.
PERFORMANCE REBUILD
Asset Optimization & Lazy Loading
Load time 6.1s → under 1.8s
Compressed and lazy-loaded all imagery and hero video, trimmed unused CSS/JS, and restructured the DOM for faster first paint — without losing the cinematic visual identity.
LEAD-CAPTURE LAYER
Custom Gated Download Flow
4 custom-coded data sheet forms
Built a custom HTML/CSS/JS form flow for the Atlas6 Shield, WaveShield, StealthNet, and DroneGuard 500 data sheets so every download is captured and trackable.
RESPONSIVE REBUILD
Mobile-First Breakpoints
Rebuilt across all breakpoints
Rebuilt every section mobile-first, so capability pages, forms, and the insights hub all hold up cleanly from desktop down to small phones.
CMS WORKFLOW
Self-Serve Publishing Template
Repeatable insights/blog template
Built a structured, reusable template for the News & Insights hub so the client's own team could publish new articles without needing a developer each time.

The New Design Direction

Alongside the technical rebuild, Digital Genei developed a new homepage mockup that carries the same performance-first structure into a cleaner, more confident visual identity — built to hold up against the primes Adler competes with for institutional trust.

Adler Aerospace redesigned homepage mockup

Newly developed homepage mockup — built on the same modular component system used across the capability pages, with a clearer hierarchy between mission statement, flagship systems, and the capability brief / demo request pathways. Every section is coded to slot straight into the reusable template system, so future pages inherit the same speed and structure without extra dev time.

The Technical Results

Within 6 months, the rebuild turned a slow, hand-built site into a fast, modular system that the client's own team can extend without a developer for every new page:

Why It Worked

Adler Aerospace shows that even a highly technical, credibility-driven site benefits most from a rebuild that treats speed and structure as product decisions, not afterthoughts. Digital Genei paired a performance-first codebase with a reusable component system — and every future page inherited that speed for free.

🧩
One template, every capability page
A single reusable component system meant new UAV, C-UAS, or ISR pages could be assembled instead of hand-coded from scratch every time.
⚡
Performance built in, not bolted on
Compressing and lazy-loading assets at the template level meant every page load faster by default, not just the homepage.
📄
Custom-coded, trackable forms
Replacing static download links with a custom HTML/CSS/JS form flow turned every data sheet request into a trackable, structured submission.
📱
Mobile-first from the ground up
Rebuilding breakpoints from scratch instead of patching the old theme meant the mobile experience actually matched the desktop one.

What Adler Aerospace Said

"

Our systems always spoke for themselves in the field — our website finally does the same online. The new site is faster, easier for our own team to update, and it holds up on every device our partners actually use.
