How we, Digital Genei, built our own custom CMS and drag-and-drop page builder — cutting site build time by 71%, boosting page load speed by 3.7×, and lifting our client sites’ organic traffic by 65% post-migration.
Every client project — from Adler Aerospace to Chenab Engineering — was running on a patchwork of third-party platforms, page builders, and plugins. Digital Genei set out to build its own answer: a fully custom CMS with an Elementor-style drag-and-drop editor, complete front-end control, and built-in SEO and meta management — giving the team one platform to design, launch, and optimize every client site without relying on outside tools.
Relying on third-party CMS platforms was slowing down delivery and limiting what could be offered to clients. The internal audit identified five recurring pain points across projects:
| # | Problem Identified | Business Impact |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Dependence on third-party page builders (Elementor, WordPress plugins) for every client build | Recurring licensing costs and plugin conflicts on nearly every project |
| 02 | No unified way to manage SEO and meta settings across pages | Inconsistent on-page SEO left client sites underperforming in search |
| 03 | Slow page speeds from plugin-heavy builder stacks | Client sites launching with avoidable performance issues |
| 04 | Every project rebuilt common sections and layouts from scratch | Longer build timelines and inconsistent design quality across projects |
| 05 | No single dashboard to manage multiple client sites | Content and design updates handled client-by-client with no shared workflow |
Digital Genei engineered a custom CMS from the ground up — combining a visual drag-and-drop builder, an A-to-Z SEO and meta control suite, and a reusable template library, all inside one internal platform.
A closer look at the platform itself — the same builder, SEO suite, and template system every client site is now shipped on.

Reusable sections every new project draws from.
Since rolling out the in-house CMS, project delivery and client site performance have both improved sharply across the board:
| Metric | Before | After | Growth | Visual |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Avg. Site Build Time | 3 weeks | 6 days | 71% | |
| Avg. Page Load Speed | 4.8s | 1.3s | 269% | |
| Third-Party Licensing Costs | Recurring per site | Eliminated | 100% | |
| Client Sites on Platform | 0 | 40+ | — | |
| Post-Migration Organic Traffic | Baseline | +65% | 65% |
Performance comparison — before vs after the in-house CMS (baseline = 1)
Building the CMS in-house meant every feature was shaped by real project needs — not a generic third-party roadmap — which is why adoption across the team and client sites happened almost immediately.
We got tired of building around someone else's page builder and hitting the same limits on every project. Building our own CMS meant we finally control the entire stack — design, SEO, performance — and every client site we ship gets faster because of it.
